Head Grounds Person

Role Summary:

Antrim Rovers FC is seeking a committed and capable Head Grounds Person to oversee the maintenance and preparation of our football pitches and club grounds. This volunteer role is vital to the presentation, safety and quality of our playing surfaces, which support the development of our players at all levels.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate a team of 8 volunteers/helpers responsible for pitch maintenance.
  • Plan and carry out regular pitch maintenance tasks such as mowing, lining, fertilising, and basic repairs.
  • Ensure equipment is well-maintained, stored properly and used safely.
  • Monitor pitch conditions and advise on closures due to weather or damage.
  • Work closely with club leadership to schedule pitch usage around training, matches and maintenance needs.
  • Support improvements to club grounds, including tidiness and upkeep of surrounding areas.


Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping or pitch maintenance (preferred but not essential).
  • Organised and proactive, with good leadership skills.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willing to commit regular time each week (especially during the playing season).
  • A team player who can lead and motivate others.

Social Media Officer

Role Summary:

Antrim Rovers FC is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Officer to lead the club’s online presence. This is a volunteer committee position, reporting directly to the Chairman and plays a vital role in promoting all aspects of club life from matchday results to events, sponsorships and community stories.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and regularly update the club’s official Facebook and Instagram channels.
  • Share team news, match results, player highlights and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Promote club events, fundraisers and sponsors.
  • Work with team coaches and volunteers to gather relevant content (photos, scores, updates).
  • Develop a consistent and engaging tone of voice that reflects the club’s values and energy.
  • Grow the club’s online following and engagement, ensuring our local presence is strong and positive.


Person Specification:

  • Experience managing social media accounts for a group, business or organisation (preferred).
  • Confident communicator with a positive, outgoing attitude.
  • Comfortable using social media tools such as Instagram, Facebook and Canva.
  • Able to work independently while staying connected with the wider committee and club activities.
  • Willingness to attend occasional matches or events to create content and stay visible around the club.
